Blue,
a.k.a. Mat Selwyn completed his apprenticeship and began tattooing
at the end of 2001. Born in country Victoria, he spent his childhood drawing, and has been an artist most of his life. He spent much of his early teens designing tattoos for his friends, and received a lot of helpful encouragement from various tattoo artists. This resulted in him drawing up enough quality flash to enable him to pay for his first tattoo. After several years selling flash and travelling, Mat settled down in Darwin, and finally accepted one of the many apprenticeships he had been offered. |

He was very committed to his
training working day and night to achieve a level of quality he was
proud of. Mat loves the challenges in the industry, and finds new aspects to explore every day. He likes to merge different styles together, particularly traditional Japanese themes with a modern twist, but still enjoys all styles of tattooing. Mat always encourages his customers to go for original, custom pieces, happy to take whatever time required to provide artwork of a very high standard |
